
A diagnostic worth paying for — or in our case, free — should end with you knowing exactly what's broken, not just what it'll cost. That means the technician can point to the specific component and explain how they tested it, not just "it looks like the board."
It should also come before any commitment. If a shop wants payment before they've opened your device and shown you what's actually wrong, that's a sign to walk away — you can't verify a diagnosis you were never shown.
