A port that feels loose, needs the cable held at an angle, or only charges intermittently is usually a worn or bent set of contact pins inside the port housing — not the whole charging system failing at once.
Lint and dust packed into the port can mimic the same symptoms, so we always check and clean it first before recommending a replacement. It's a five-minute check that saves a repair fee often enough to be worth doing every time.
If cleaning doesn't fix it, the actual part is a small flex cable assembly, not the phone's main board — which is why charging port repairs are usually one of the cheaper fixes on our price list, not one of the expensive ones.
